Connecting Your Broker
Link your brokerage account for automatic trade imports.
Supported Brokers
Direct API Connection:
- Interactive Brokers
- TD Ameritrade
- Alpaca
- Tradier
Manual Import:
- All other brokers via CSV
Connecting Interactive Brokers
- Go to Settings → Broker Connections
- Click Add Broker → Interactive Brokers
- Log in to IB and authorize TradeLogist
- Select accounts to sync
Required IB settings:
- Enable API access in Account Management
- Allow third-party connections
Connection Security
We NEVER:
- Store your broker password
- Have trading access
- Execute orders
We ONLY:
- Read trade history
- Read position information
- Use read-only API access
Sync Settings
Automatic sync:
- New trades imported hourly
- Toggle on/off per connection
- View last sync time
Manual sync:
- Click Sync Now anytime
- Force full history resync
Managing Connections
To disconnect:
- Go to Broker Connections
- Click the broker to manage
- Select Disconnect
- Imported trades are preserved
To reconnect:
- Re-authorize if token expired
- May need to log in to broker again
Troubleshooting
"Connection Expired"
- Broker tokens expire periodically
- Click Reconnect and re-authorize
"Missing Trades"
- Check date range settings
- Verify account is selected
- Try manual sync
"Duplicate Trades"
- We detect duplicates automatically
- Manual imports won't duplicate API imports
Data Privacy
Your broker connection is:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Only accessible by you
- Revocable anytime from broker settings
