Understanding IB Export Format
IB exports include multiple sections. We use:
| Section | What We Import |
|---|---|
| Trades | All executed trades |
| Cash Transactions | Dividends, interest |
| Fees | Commission details |
Common Issues
"No trades found in file"
- Ensure you exported the Activity (not Summary) statement
- Check date range includes trades
"Missing symbols"
- IB uses contract IDs internally
- We auto-map to standard tickers
- Some options may need manual mapping
"Wrong P/L calculations"
- We recalculate P/L from entry/exit
- Slight differences from IB are normal
- Usually due to different costing methods
Tips for IB Users
- Use API connection for ongoing sync
- Export monthly as backup
- Verify a few trades after first import
- Check currency matches your settings
